Rota guidelines
Thank you to all who volunteer at Rutland Road Church, we could not function without the time given by our members and even non members. Below are some guidelines meant to assist when undertaking specific work for the church, followed by a rota for the coming month.
If you are unable to do your duty on the specified week, please could you arrange a swap with others on the rota and inform
Welcome
- Arrive for welcome duty by 10 am
- Stay in the foyer until 10.45 am
- Offer people a copy of 'What's on' as they enter
- Direct visitors to any facilities that they may need
- During the service watch for anyone who may need help
- Return to the foyer after the service finishes and offer the 'Welcome' leaflet to visitors
Serving Drinks
Before the service:
- Put out the kettles and teapots and fill them with water. One teapot is usually enough and about eight teabags are required
- Set out mugs, cups and saucers, about eighteen cups each for tea and coffee.
After the service (you will need to leave before the sermon has finished):
- Boil kettles
- Make a jug of juice and put out plastic cups on a tray
- Put the sugar and small jugs of milk on one of the tables in the Lounge
- Wash everything up, put it away and wipe over the tables in the Lounge
Créche
For children aged 0-3 and begins when Adventurers leave the service. It is provided on an ad hoc basis.
There are toys and books in the créche room. Please don't use toys from the cupboard to the left of the viewing window as these are for Teas and Tots only.
Clean up after the session (encourage the children to help if you like) and lock the créche door as you leave.
